Dan Carroll is Chief Scientist at Cranium, leading the AI Science and AI Security teams to invent the tools to secure the AI revolution. Dan often remarks that he has the best job at Cranium, saying, “I get to spend all day working with the smartest people in the world on the hardest problems you could ask for….what more could you want?”
Before joining Cranium, Dan led machine learning development as the Principal Data Scientist at CVS Health. He spearheaded AI R&D in many areas, including language model driven search and chat, graph-based recommendation, and embedding based security. He consulted for and conducted in-depth technical assessments for CVS’s venture arm to support strategic investments, including partnerships with Google and NVIDIA. He also built and optimized the care search and recommendation engine, a vital platform serving millions of CVS users daily. Prior to his time in healthcare, Dan led science and engineering teams in the defense sector, solving complex challenges to strengthen US national security.
