Brian Cincera
Chief Information Security Officer, Cargill, Inc.
Brian has global responsibility for Pfizer’s enterprise infrastructure, multi-cloud platforms, IT operations, information security and risk management capabilities. In his role, Brian oversees strategy development, operations and infrastructure services delivery at more than 500 Pfizer locations. As part of Pfizer’s Enterprise Risk Management program, Brian is responsible for leading its information security risk governance process including regular reporting to Pfizer’s executive leadership and Board of Directors.
What distinguishes Brian’s approach to security is how genuinely cross-industry it is. Over the course of his career, he has advised and led security programs spanning Financial Services, Telecommunications, Transportation, Energy, and Life Sciences — giving him a perspective on risk that few security leaders can match. He understands that while every industry has its own threat landscape, the fundamentals of building resilient, scalable security programs translate across all of them.
Prior to his current role, Brian led a wide range of technology teams in both infrastructure and cybersecurity, including strategic leadership for enterprise-wide deployment programs. He joined Pfizer in 2005 after working with the company to develop its digital credential and electronic identity strategy. Before joining Pfizer, Brian worked at Greenwich Technology Partners, Bolt Baranek & Newman (BBN) and other strategic security consulting firms supporting the Financial Services, Telecommunications, Transportation and Energy industries, inside and outside of the United States.
Brian is the Board Chairman for the Health-Information Sharing and Analysis Center (H-ISAC), the Department of Homeland Security affiliated entity for enhancing cybersecurity across the healthcare sector. Brian co-authored “The Perfect Scorecard”, a practical guide to cybersecurity. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Penn State University and lives in Allentown, PA with his wife and two school-age daughters.
